About Jay Radisich

jaye_radisich_2009.jpg

At 24 years of age Jaye Radisich was the youngest woman ever to be elected to the Western Australian parliament and was the Member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly for Swan Hills from 2001 until her retirement in 2008. Her inaugural speech to Parliament outlined her passion for helping others, the importance of community and areas that needed to be addressed in society.

As a student at Mount Lawley SHS, Jaye actively participated in school life, and had a long list of achievements through-out her studies. Visit our news item from 2012 for a more extensive list of her achievements.

After passing away, at age 35, tributes from state government colleagues flowed for this remarkable woman, who was described as "very bright and vivacious, always full of energy" and " an extremely energetic member for Swan Hills who never took 'no' for an answer. She was never intimidated by a challenge."
