Today the Year 12 Geography General students, alongside the Year 11 Geography ATAR students, were able to sit down and listen to two volunteer firefighters for the Department of Fire & Emergency Services, who were able to teach us the methods they use in order to prevent fires and how stop fires from spreading any further.
Rik Mills is an Area Officer and Training Coordinator for the DFES and was able to share this information with us alongside some bad jokes as well. Rik was also able to share information about how to get involved with the firefights and his own part of being a volunteer fire fighter himself.
The class was glad they were able to come to the school, and we all hope to see them again to share their knowledge again to other students in the future.
