Year 9 High Achievers' Breakfast
On Tuesday the 15 th of November, sixty four Year 9 students were invited to second Year 9 High Achievers' Breakfast.
Student selection was based on their strong academic performance - heading toward A's and B's, attendance of 90% or higher and good citizenship.
Various staff members, including some Year 9 teachers as well as the Head Boy, Aaron and Head Girl, Olivia, attended.
Wayne Zaccheus, a John Curtin Undergraduate Scholarship recipient Curtin Student Ambassador was our guest speaker.
Wayne is currently completing the second year of a double degree in Chemical Engineering and Commerce.
Wayne spoke about the importance of volunteering and giving to others.
He also spoke about the amazing experiences that he has had as a Student Ambassador at Curtin University.
After breakfast Aaron and Olivia gave an inspirational speech to the students and guests.
Their words of congratulations and encouragement were spoken from the heart and resonated with all of the students.
The Year 12 Certificate II in Hospitality students served a delicious breakfast in the Hospitality Room.
The Hospitality students had planned the menu and cooked the food as part of their certificate course.
The breakfast aimed to recognise students for their current high performance and encourage them to continue to strive for successful results in their senior years at school and beyond.
