Semester One Music Concert
The Mount Lawley Music Department held its semester one concert on Thursday 26 June at The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts music auditorium.
The evening comprised of two concerts, and began with the middle school concert, mainly involving years 8 and 9 students.
After a brief intermission the senior school concert capped off the night well.
All of our students performed with great enthusiasm and professionalism.
The concerts always serve as an excellent reminder of the quality of our music students from years 8 to 12.
The audience heard from a diverse range of performers including String Orchestras, Jazz Ensembles, Rock Bands, Concert bands, independently formed student groups and the school Choir to name a few.
All students felt a great sense of achievement as they came off stage and their development was obvious to all that attended.
We look forward to the up and coming festivals during Term 3 where the students have another opportunity to not only showcase their talents, but to further develop their understanding of ensemble performance.
We hope to see all parents at the Semester 2 concert, which is scheduled for Monday 8 September.
