Outdoor Education Update
Our Year 11 Outdoor Education students have been keeping busy throughout the year, recently participating in two activities.
Orienteering
The first being the Be Active WA Schools Orienteering Competition, held at Jorgenson Park, Kalamunda by Orienteering WA.
The students enjoyed competing in the paired division discovering the wonders of participating in an outdoor environment event with over 500 other competitors.
Our students performed admirably for their first attempt in an organised competition.
Hiking
In August, our intrepid explorers navigated around a 17km "Eagle View" walk at John Forrest National Park as part of their preparation for a two day Bibbulmun Track bush walk in September.
We were lucky to receive perfect weather conditions in a very wet week of school, allowing us to enjoy each other's great company, the spectacular views and the fitness challenge of the walk.
The students are very much looking forward to our Expedition in September on the Bibbulmun Track, finishing with an abseil at Boya Quarry in Greenmount, conducted by Adventure Out, Australia.
This is often the highlight of the year for many of our class members.
