Staff v. Students Footy
Freo House Footy kicked off at Mount Lawley Senior High School during week 7 as the Year 12 students challenged the Staff to a game of recreational football.
The staff, equipped with a mixture of experience turned back the clock with an efficient display of ball movement.
Mark Howard (Phys Ed) put on a clinic up forward to finish with 4 goals and collect the Best on ground award.
He was ably assisted by the 'Chapstick' Paul (Chaplain), with both receiving great supply from a midfield laden with talent.
Ruck (Phys Ed) demoralised the promising Sam, whilst the creativity of Nichols (Phys Ed) and evasiveness of Tipping (Phys Ed) outgunned the younger Alex and Jacob.
The biggest disappointment came from the star import 'Easley' (Youth Worker), with the State Basketball League star struggling to transfer his skills to the oval ball.
The highlight of the game came in the second half when an unsuspecting Tempone (Phys Ed) was placed in a headlock by a fired up Paige, before the resulting free kick ended with Howard's 4th and a 5-4 win to the Staff.
Our thanks to the support of the Fremantle Football Club for their support of the competition.
