Sustainable Agriculture

Alex was Head Boy at Mount Lawley Senior High School in 2002.

After leaving school, Alex played professional cricket in Ireland.

Alex studied 'Natural Resource Management' at the University of Western Australia and completed a Masters in 'Africa & International Development' at the University of Edinburgh.

The idea for Seed Change was born as a product of several research trips to Kigoma in Tanzania as part of his studies.

Alex co-founded the organisation in 2013.

Through his Seed Change project, Alex has created a non-profit, community based organisation working with small-holder farmers to reduce poverty through increased sustainable agricultural production in western Tanzania.

The program aims to develop the social and economic empowerment of their farmers and has a significant focus on supporting women farmers.

Alex now lives in Tanzania supervising the project as it aims to affect positive change in lifting the living standards of Tanzanian farmers.

Alex was inducted as a Lawley Legend on Friday 5 May 2017
