Bob Massie
Bob began playing cricket at age ten at Bedford Park Youth Club while attending Hillcrest Primary, later joining Bassendean-Bayswater during high school. At Mount Lawley SHS, he excelled in Maths and English and described it as "a terrific school with an excellent batch of teachers." A fast bowler at school, he was rarely without five wickets in a match.
Eventually selected for WA, and then Australia, in 1972, Bob made one of cricket's most remarkable Test debuts at Lord's, taking 16 wickets. After six Tests and three ODIs for Australia, he retired to a long banking career and later became a coach and ABC commentator.
